Gil Lieberman

Urban Health Plan’s Annual Golf Outing is held in memory of our dear friend Gil Lieberman, who passed away in November of 2015.

Gil was a longtime supporter of Urban Health Plan’s work and instrumental in growing and ensuring the success of our golf outing. He devoted the same passion he gave to his job and family to the success of the outing, participating in the planning committee even when he was supposed to be relaxing in Florida.

Gil was born on November 24, 1944 in the Bronx, to Harry and Hilda Lieberman. He graduated from Central Commercial High School in 1963. He proudly served in the National Guard in the mid-1960s. Gil established a small document services company with his partner Chuck out of their garage in 1988. He grew the company into a large retailer known as DEC Copiers, which is currently based in West Haverstraw, New York. He enjoyed the business immensely and continued to work even after his official retirement.

Gil always looked like he stepped out of GQ with his youthful appearance and dapper wardrobe and on UHP’s best dressed golfer award several times. When not on the golf course, Gil dedicated his free time to his wife, children, grandchildren and to causes he believed in.
